Special Education Teacher

As a school-based Special Education Teacher, your days will include:

• Provide individualized instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals and learning needs.
• Develop and implement IEPs and monitor student progress.
• Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and classroom supports to meet diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success.
• Support students’ academic, social, behavioral, and functional skill development.
• Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow applicable special education requirements.

Job Details

• Openings: 2 onsite contract positions; 32.5 hours per week each
• Position 1: Grades 6–8 multi-needs program; ASAP through the end of the school year
• Position 2: Fourth-grade special education co-teacher; ASAP through winter break for a 12-week leave of absence, with possible extension; daily schedule 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
• Interviews: Virtual interviews available ASAP
• School Environment: Supportive school team; a current Navra professional reports a positive experience at this placement

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or a related field
• Illinois Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) endorsement and Professional Educator License (PEL) (required)
• Experience in special education, a multi-needs program, or a co-taught classroom (preferred)
• The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
