OES SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER- TLC PROGRAM at the Fisher Hill Elementary School. This position is for the 2026-2027 school year.
The ideal candidate for the position of teacher of the Therapeutic Learning Center would hold the following qualifications/training:
- Understanding of the basic principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Knowledge of child development, including the variations within development for
students with developmental disabilities including Autism and Down Syndrome
- The ability to supervise, manage and communicate with multiple individual aides
- The ability to communicate effectively with related service providers to ensure
generalizability of treatment programs as well as the program BCBA
- The ability to communicate effectively with parents/families as well as outside care
providers regarding the development and progress of students
- Conduct monthly family clinic training''s based on pertinent topics
- Implement Behavior Intervention Plans
- Take a variety of data regarding program acquisition, behavior and independent
living
skills
- The ability to design and implement Discrete Trial Training programs for students
in grades preschool-3rd
- The ability to design and implement chaining procedures to teach independent
living skills
- The ability to design modifications/accommodations of assignments for inclusion
in the general education curriculum
- The ability to design engaging and effective small group lessons utilizing assistive
and augmentative communication systems, technology and based on the
strengths of multiple learning styles
- The ability to use varied forms of assistive and augmentative communication
programs (examples include sign language, PODD, TouchChat and Proloquo2go)
CERTIFICATION: Must have a current Massachusetts Teaching License for Moderate Disabilities K-8
- Or certification as a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst
SALARY: $45,174 - $93,835 (subject to change- due to pending contract negotiations) based on experience and credentials.
