Qualification:

NJ Teacher of the Handicapped Certification

OR NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities AND NJ Elementary School Teacher Certification

Provide small group and individualized instruction aligned with students' IEP goals

Modify curriculum and assessments to meet the diverse needs of students

Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and administrators

Write and maintain accurate and timely IEPs and progress reports

Maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment

Extra duties as assigned by the building Principal

Salary: $60,653 - $115,891 per year. Final compensation will be based on experience and qualifications

All alternate route candidates ("Certificate of Eligibility) must show completion of 50 hours of pre-service training through a DOE approved CE educator program prior to being interviewed for a position. The certificate of completion must be uploaded into the AppliTrack portal in order for alternate route candidates to be considered. It explicitly prohibits such employers from hiring a person serving in a position which involves regular contact with students unless the employer conducts a review of the employment history of the applicant by contacting former and current employers and requesting information regarding child abuse and sexual misconduct allegations.
