Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join Richardson ISD in a K-2 self-contained classroom for the remainder of the school year. This is a contract position offering a competitive hourly rate, weekly pay, benefits, and PTO.
Responsibilities

• 
  Provide specialized instruction in a K-2 self-contained classroom.
  
• 
  Develop and implement engaging, differentiated lessons based on individual student needs and IEP goals.
  
• 
  Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and functional development.
  
• 
  Monitor and document student progress and maintain accurate educational records.
  
• 
  Implement accommodations, modifications, and individualized supports as outlined in student IEPs.
  
• 
  Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.
  
• 
  Participate in ARDs/IEP meetings and contribute to student planning and progress monitoring.
  
• 
  Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
  

Qualifications

• 
  Valid Texas Special Education teaching certification/license.
  
• 
  Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in an elementary setting.
  
• 
  Experience with self-contained classrooms preferred.
  
• 
  Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
  
• 
  Commitment to supporting the academic and developmental needs of young learners.
