Location: Elementary School – West St. Paul, MN
Contract Dates: September 8, 2026 – June 10, 2027
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week
Days: Monday–Friday
Grade Levels: 3rd–4th Grade
Caseload: 8 students
Setting: Setting 3 / Center-Based

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support a multi-age, center-based classroom serving 3rd and 4th grade students with Autism and cognitive disabilities. The teacher will provide academic and social/emotional instruction throughout the school day while creating a supportive and structured learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized academic and social/emotional instruction based on individual student needs.

• Develop, write, and implement IEPs and evaluations.

• Build strong, positive relationships with students and families.

• Oversee and manage two paraprofessionals within the classroom.

• Collaborate closely with teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and other school staff.

• Maintain organized student records and ensure special education requirements are met.

• Support students with Autism and cognitive disabilities in a center-based setting.

Qualifications

• Active Minnesota Special Education teaching license required.

• Experience working with students with Autism and/or cognitive disabilities preferred.

• Experience in a Setting 3 or center-based classroom preferred.

• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

• Ability to build strong relationships with young learners.

• Spanish-speaking candidates highly preferred.
