Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support students in a Setting 3/Center-Based classroom for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, in-person opportunity is ideal for educators who are passionate about creating individualized learning experiences and helping students with Autism and Cognitive Disabilities achieve meaningful academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to 3rd and 4th grade students with Autism and Cognitive Disabilities in a center-based classroom setting.

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student goals and district requirements.

• Differentiate instruction to meet individual learning, communication, behavioral, and sensory needs.

• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, support staff, and families to promote student success.

• Collect and maintain accurate data on student progress toward IEP goals and objectives.

• Implement positive behavior support strategies and create a structured, inclusive learning environment.

• Participate in IEP meetings, team collaboration meetings, and professional development activities.

• Foster student independence, social skills, self-advocacy, and functional life skills.

Qualifications

• Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License or eligibility for Minnesota licensure.

• Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Cognitive Disabilities preferred.

• Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and compliance requirements.

• Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities.

• Commitment to supporting students through individualized and evidence-based instruction.
