REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
General Description: The Special Education Teacher will provide special education services and instruction to students in grades 9-12; including Math, ELA (English Language Arts), Science, and Social Studies. A strong background in math is preferred. They will write and gather data for the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and ensure that students are receiving the services required. They will participate as a member of a team and collaborate with other staff to meet the unique needs of all of the students. In addition, they will correspond with families to ensure a strong home-school connection.

Knowledge
Familiarity with the IEP Process and State and Federal regulations.
Understanding of Equity initiatives & resources that promote a culture of diversity and inclusion embracing differences as a strategic opportunity towards leading the District's efforts to build a culture of equality and embodiment for all students, families, employees and the community.
Must possess a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Special Education, 504, and School Law.

Must be aware of relevant policies and procedures mandated by the State of DE including Comprehensive School Safety Program and Delaware Emergency Management Agency that promotes a safe school environment and includes training in areas such as; The RAVE Panic App, Navigate360, School Emergency Plans, Suicide Response, Child Abuse Prevention, Criminal Youth Gang, Teen Dating Violence, School Bullying Prevention, & Safe Positive Approach to Behavior.
Must have experience and a working knowledge of Infinite Campus and data management systems in addition to Google Docs to monitor and track student data related to school discipline and climate.
