Pellston Public Schools is seeking a motivated individual with a desire to teach Special Education. Interested persons should possess teacher certification either in secondary special education, and have a desire to make a difference in the lives of those students that require specialized instruction in a secondary setting! All candidates possessing a valid teaching certificate will be considered. Qualifications:

  • A valid Michigan teaching certificate or able to fulfill the requirement prior to start date.
  • Must meet criteria for "highly qualified" status under ESSA.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with students, staff, administration, parents, and community.
  • Demonstrated success as a collaborator and proven team player.
  • A desire to teach students requiring specialized instruction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Special Education applicants with Emotional Impairment (SE) or Autism (SV) a plus.
  • Special Education endorsed applicants with endorsements in other subject areas.
  • Recent experience teaching at the elementary or secondary level is desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of differentiating instruction and modifying curriculum to meet student needs.
  • Demonstrated successful communication skills with students, staff, administrators, parents, and community.
  • Demonstrated successful experience utilizing technology.
  • Seeking applicants interested in coaching and/or advising in extracurricular activities.
