Special Education Teacher (Self-Contained Intellectual Disability Setting) - Salary begins at $62,000

JOB SUMMARY:

The Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Area School District is looking for a caring and dedicated Special Education teacher. The teacher leads CW HS/MS students in a self-contained Intellectual Disability setting, working with students on a functional curriculum and assisting students in increasing their independence. The teacher is responsible for providing education to meet students'' intellectual, emotional, developmental, and social needs, fostering lifelong learning and good citizenship. Instruction will include small group instruction, specialized skill development, and collaboration with other providers, including outside agencies. The special education teacher will collaborate with other service providers to meet student needs during the day. This program is located at Chetek-Weyerhaeuser High/Middle School, offering the opportunity to integrate into the general education setting and provide service and support to the school community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates shall have a bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (required). Valid teaching certification in Special Education. Experience working with students with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and behavioral challenges. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families. Patience, empathy, and a commitment to student success. The District will consider candidates with alternative licensure areas or willingness to obtain proper licensure.
