Special Education Teacher - STRIVE - Lincoln Street K-5 Elementary Schools Locations: Lincoln K-5 Elementary School General Description: The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a skilled and creative special education teacher to work as the lead teacher in the STRIVE Program at Lincoln K-5 Elementary School. The STRIVE Program is a specialized program with a low student to teacher ratio for students with intellectual and other developmental disabilities who require intensive programming and support. The program addresses the unique needs of each student, ensuring that instruction is developmentally appropriate. Instruction is focused on activities of daily living, functional academics, community experiences, independence, vocational skills, recreation and leisure skills, social skills and communication. Students are provided with ongoing opportunities for meaningful inclusion with the support of program staff. Within this developmental model, the instructional strategies of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) are utilized throughout the school day. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
