    Summary

    Liberty Corner Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team on a tenure track basis. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs. This full-time position requires a dynamic educator who can develop individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborate with parents and staff, and implement effective teaching strategies to promote student success.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
    • Provide direct instruction and support to students with varying levels of special needs in both inclusive and self-contained classroom settings.
    • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning and development.
    • Assess students' progress and adapt instructional methods to meet individual needs.
    • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and strategies for support at home.
    • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and IEP documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and self-advocacy.
    • Advocate for the needs of students with disabilities within the school community and beyond.
    • Collaborate with external agencies and community resources to support students and families.

    Requirements

    • Valid state certification in Special Education.
    • Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting is preferred.
    • Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
    • Ability to develop and implement effective instructional strategies tailored to individual student needs.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing IEP documentation and student records.
    • Commitment to professional growth and development in the field of special education.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Passion for advocating for and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
