Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher (Learning Specialist) to support middle school students in Grades 6 8 in Thornton, CO. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who is committed to creating an inclusive learning environment and helping students reach their full potential.

Position Details:

• Role: Learning Specialist / Special Education Teacher
• Grade Levels: Middle School (Grades 6 8)
• Student Caseload: Approximately 23 students with Mild/Moderate needs
• Location: Thornton, Colorado

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with student goals and learning needs.
• Provide specialized instruction and academic support to students with mild/moderate disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support teams to promote student success.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching credential/license as required by Colorado standards.
• Experience supporting middle school students in a special education setting preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
• Passion for helping students achieve academic and personal growth.
