Special Education Teacher

Description:
Middle School is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in a middle school setting. The ideal candidate will be able to potentially fulfill a split role consisting of 0.5 Significant Support Needs (SSN) Teacher and 0.5 Learning Specialist.

The school strongly prefers a full-time candidate but may consider qualified educators interested in a part-time opportunity.

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.
• Support approximately 14 students in the Significant Support Needs (SSN) program.
• Provide additional academic and instructional support to Mild/Moderate (Mild/Mod) students as needed.
• Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with student IEPs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, families, and related service providers.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction and interventions as needed.
• Promote an inclusive, supportive, and positive learning environment for students in grades 6 8.

• Appropriate Colorado Special Education teaching credentials/licensure.
• Experience working with students with significant support needs and/or mild/moderate disabilities preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with middle school students and a multidisciplinary school team.

• Middle School Grades 6 8
• Full-time preferred
• Part-time candidates with relevant skills and experience may be considered
• Role may be structured as 0.5 SSN Teacher / 0.5 Learning Specialist
