Special Education Teacher: Visually Impaired

Position:

Transylvania County Schools seeks a Teacher for Special Education (Visually Impaired students) to serve students at mulitple school locations.

Job Summary:

Position is available August 17, 2026, for the 2026-27 school year. Position is part-time (20 hours/week); 10-month employment term. The purpose of this position is to travel to students from assigned schools to provide direct and/or consultative special education services related to visual impairments. These services aim to enable the student to learn in classroom and community environments. Assigned students range in age from 3 to 21, may have additional disabilities, and may have varying cognitive functions.

Qualifications:

Applicants for the position must hold or be eligible to hold NC licensure in area 88083 (Visually Impaired).
