Special Education Teacher

Wareham High School is looking for a passionate and innovative moderate disabilities special education teacher to join our team. This position will entail responsibilities for day-to-day management of the assigned classes and provision of instruction. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Providing opportunities for individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student. Encouraging students to set and maintain high standards of classroom behavior and achievement, which includes working with support staff when needed. Collaboration with related service providers. Creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students'' needs. Employing a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media Writing and implementing student IEPs. Attending IEP meetings. Tracking progress and quarterly reports in regards to IEP goals and achievement. The supervision of classroom staff. Ongoing parental contact.
