At Navra, we believe great schools start with great people. We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join a K–12 school community in Washington, DC.
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) based on each student's academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional needs.
Deliver differentiated and specially designed instruction to support students with diverse learning needs.
Provide instruction across a variety of settings, including inclusion, resource, and self-contained classrooms.
Track student progress, analyze data, and adjust instructional strategies and interventions as needed.
Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and families.
Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
Implement accommodations, modifications, behavioral supports, and instructional strategies outlined in student IEPs.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with IDEA, school policies, and applicable Washington, DC requirements.
Position: Contract position with option to renew

Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday
Pay: $40–$54/hour based on experience
Schedule: Follows the school calendar
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
Active or eligible Washington, DC teaching credential appropriate for the assignment
Experience supporting students with disabilities in a school setting preferred
Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, progress monitoring, and special education compliance
Strong classroom management, communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Ability to differentiate instruction and support students with a variety of academic and behavioral needs
New graduates and early-career educators are encouraged to apply
Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
