Special Education Teacher

As an 8th Grade school-based Special Education Teacher in West Chicago, IL, your days will include:

• Provide special education instruction and support to 8th grade students in a middle school setting.
• Co-teach three sections alongside general education teachers to support students with diverse learning needs.
• Teach one dedicated special education math class using differentiated and individualized instruction.
• Manage a caseload of approximately 10-15 students and support the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and the special education team to promote student success.
• Monitor student progress, maintain required documentation, and ensure compliance with IEP goals and applicable special education requirements.
• Contribute to a supportive, well-established special education department and collaborative school team.

Job Details

• Position: Contract through June 3, 2027 in a school setting
• Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 7:25 AM-2:55 PM
• Caseload: 8th grade; approximately 10-15 students

Successful Candidates Possess

• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (required)
• Previous school-based experience is preferred
• The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
