Special Education Teacher

Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher Significant Support Needs (SSN) to join an elementary school team in Westminster, Colorado for the 2026 2027 school year.

This position supports students with significant support needs in a center-based elementary program. The ideal candidate will have experience providing specialized instruction, developing and implementing IEPs, and collaborating with paraprofessionals and school staff to support student success.

• Provide specialized instruction and support to K 5 students with significant support needs.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction and interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with school staff, families, related service providers, and other members of the educational team.
• Manage and provide guidance and training to approximately 5 6 paraprofessionals supporting the classroom.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Participate in meetings, professional development, and other school-related activities.
• Complete CPI training within the first 90 days of employment.

• Current Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education license/certification REQUIRED and must be in hand at the time of submission.
• Previous experience teaching special education.
• Experience writing and implementing IEPs.
• Experience working with students with significant support needs.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.

• Experience teaching in an SSN/significant support needs program.
• ELL/ESL training or experience.
• ESL or Linguistically Diverse Education (LDE) endorsement.
• Experience working in a center-based special education setting.
• Experience supervising, managing, or training paraprofessional staff.

This is a full-time opportunity for the 2026 2027 school year, with approximately 40 hours per week and a caseload of around 10 students.

Important: Candidates must have their required CDE license in hand before submission to be considered.
