Qualifications: • CT teaching certification in Special Education K-12 • Certification in Multi-Sensory Reading Programs such as Wilson or Orton-Gillingham • Prior experience working with students with special needs, including dyslexia • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills • Must be flexible, creative, and demonstrate strong organization skills • Must be highly motivated and self-directed

Responsibilities: • Work collaboratively with individual student teams • Provide Case Manager services, including development, implementation, and monitoring of IEP goals and objectives; liaison with general education teachers; communication with home; running Team meetings • Attend PPTs and other meetings for assigned students and present up to date information on progress toward goals and objectives • Conduct and present educational testing results, using this information to review and revise current IEP goals and objectives • Collect and manage data pertaining to various student goals and objectives • Ensure that all class accommodations are being implemented in the appropriate settings • Participate in professional development and other meetings with the special education department and school-wide faculty • Provide consultative services in general education classes; assist in adapting and modifying curriculum materials and instructional approaches; serve as a resource to the general education staff in regards to working with students with dyslexia
