As a 9-12th grade Special Education Teacher in Yorkvlle, IL, your days will include:

• Teaching four sections of functional social studies and one resource-level, co-taught U.S. History course.
• Differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum to meet students’ individual academic, functional, and social-emotional needs.
• Serve as case manager for five students while supporting additional students across assigned classes.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal requirements.
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and school administrators.
• Use student data and ongoing assessments to guide instruction, document progress, and adjust supports.
• Maintain a structured, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, independence, and success.

Job Details

• Position: Contract assignment in a school setting, ASAP through May 24, 2027
• Hours: 36 hours per week; 7:10 a.m.-2:50 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 7:10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Wednesday; student attendance and institute days only
• Caseload: Grades 9-12; case management for five students, with additional students served in assigned classes

Successful Candidates Possess

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (required)
• Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement (required)
• Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and differentiated instruction
• Ability to collaborate effectively in functional and co-taught classroom settings
• New graduates may be considered
