Special Education Teacher (LBS1)

Provide specialized instruction in English Language Arts (ELA) for 7th and 8th grade students receiving special education services.
Serve as the case manager for approximately 15 Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) while ensuring compliance with all federal and state special education regulations.
Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals while maintaining accurate documentation and progress reporting.
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to ensure students receive appropriate accommodations and support.
Differentiate instruction using evidence-based practices to meet the unique academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students.
Foster a structured, positive, and inclusive learning environment that promotes student growth and independence.
Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and other school-based initiatives that support student success.
Position: Contract (option to renew) in a school setting
Hours: 32.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Contract Dates: August 14, 2026 – May 28, 2027
Grade Level: 7th & 8th Grade
Setting: Middle School
Primary Assignment: ELA instruction and case management of approximately 15 IEPs

Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
Illinois Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) Endorsement
Experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
The ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
