Job Description

The Ellsworth Community School District is accepting applications for the position of Special Education Teaching Assistant Ellsworth Elementary School. The position begins on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. This position works with children with special needs

Applicants should have a high school diploma, experience with children, capability of balancing team and individual responsibilities while adapting to changes in the work environment, ability to implement targeted interventions under the direction of a teacher, be able to collaborate with multiple staff, ability to assist with daily management and modification of student behavior and perform various other duties as assigned. Training is provided in areas of autism, behavior management, trauma informed care, literacy and Math interventions and sensory regulation. Strengths and preferences of applicants are considered in the interview process. Pay rate is $18.73-$23.86 / hour depending on education and experience.

Upon hire, applicant must hold a Special Education aide license or WI DPI Sub teaching license - District will assist in obtaining licensure and the cost is reimbursed.
