This recruitment will be used to fill multiple part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Outreach Assistant positions for the KidSpirit Program in the Division of Extension and Engagement at Oregon State University (OSU).

KidSpirit is a unit within the Division of Extension and Engagement. The mission of KidSpirit is to be a leader in providing young people with intentional, high-quality, equitable learning experiences that promote positive interactions among adults and peers.
The Youth Program Instructor (Special Events / School Year Day Camp/ Community Events/ Birthday Parties) is responsible for delivering high‑quality instruction to youth while fostering a safe, supportive, and growth‑oriented environment. The position requires strong communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Responsibilities include lesson planning, safety response, equipment management, program promotion, and effective collaboration with staff, families, and supervisors. KidSpirit prides itself in challenging its employees to grow as individual's while gaining professional experience. Special events staff include staff that work in gymnastics and aquatics.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
