Special Events Coordinator (6782)

Location: The Salvation Army Greenville Kroc Center - Greenville, SC

Position Type: Temporary Full-Time

Pay Range: $19.00/Hour

About this opportunity:

Plans, schedules, and implements all internal and external rental events at the Kroc Center; maintains and strengthens The Salvation Army image in the community and raises awareness of Kroc Center activities through various functions; conducts tours and promotes rentals of the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Assists with all aspects of events to include set up, serving food, A/V needs, parking lot logistics, and cleaning up after event; assists in preparing meals, beverages, and snacks; assists in serving meals ensuring appropriate portions are provided.
• Assist supervisor with front of house food service setup and logistics. Maintains ServSafe certification and understands proper food handling, storage, service, and presentation to maintain high standards of quality for catering department
• Collaborates with the supervisor to support technical/production needs of all Kroc events including coordination, setup, operation, and breakdown of Audio-Visual equipment on a daily basis for meetings and major corporate events
• Serves as primary contact for rental groups during the events; provides management for all events of the Kroc Center; answers any questions that renters may have.
• Prepares event correspondence and coordination including proposals, billing, and RMS management.
• Works in conjunction with the Kroc Center's Program leaders, Food Services, and Facilities Departments for all internal Kroc events and external rentals.
• Works cooperatively with the supervisor, department staff, and others as necessary to schedule space within the Kroc Center for events; coordinates sales of party rentals and trains center staff to handle same; coordinates and oversees the provision of all rental group needs.

What are we looking for in you:

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or G.E.D. And

Two to three years' customer service and/or event coordination experience, Or

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications:

Serf Safe Management a plus

Or

Food Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe)
