The Special Inspector role is a field-based position in Hayden, Idaho, requiring candidates to reside within commuting distance of regional offices.
This position involves supporting construction projects by performing inspections such as welding, bolting, reinforced concrete, and masonry, ensuring compliance with plans, codes, and specifications.
- Review drawings and specifications before inspections.
- Travel to construction sites to conduct inspections per building codes.
- Operate and maintain inspection equipment.
- Complete detailed electronic reports of work and observations.
- Communicate professionally with project teams and clients.
- Ensure documentation meets standards and provide excellent customer service.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications include at least 3 years of inspection experience, relevant certifications (ICC, CWI, WAQTC), a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills.
The work environment involves outdoor site visits, physical activity, and exposure to weather conditions. Overtime and weekend work may be required during peak seasons.
