Special Investigator is a permanent, full-time position used by various agencies throughout the state. This is special investigative work in providing assistance in preparation for prosecuting cases and for performing highly confidential assignments. Investigations are conducted to detect and correct acts of abusive use of available services or to provide information to regulatory agencies. Investigators carry out a wide variety of assignments with considerable independence in conducting investigations and surveillance.
