Job Title: Special Procedures Technologist (Interventional Radiology)

Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Days | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Monday – Friday | 40 Hours/Week
Call: Required
Location: 1000 Johnson Ferry Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30342

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Interventional Radiology (IR) or Endovascular Operating Room (EVOR) experience required.
  • No local candidates within a 50-mile radius.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Current ARRT (Radiography) Certification required.
  • Current AHA BLS Certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of diagnostic radiology experience required.
  • Experience with Cerner EMR preferred.
  • Training or experience in vascular angiography, coronary angiography, and special procedures preferred.
  • Previous cardiac catheterization laboratory experience preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures while assisting physicians during minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
  • Prepare procedure rooms, sterile equipment, and supplies while maintaining strict sterile technique.
  • Operate fluoroscopic imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images during procedures.
  • Assist with vascular interventions, angiography, biopsies, drain placements, embolizations, and other image-guided procedures.
  • Monitor patient condition before, during, and after procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Administer and document contrast media in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Collaborate with interventional radiologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Accurately document procedures and patient information in Cerner EMR.
