Bachelors degree. Four years of administrative experience, to include supervisory experience, is required. Additional administrative experience, to include supervisory experience, may substitute for the required college education on a year-for-year basis.

Recruitment Notes

The Housing and Community Development Department (HCD) is seeking a professional to serve as a Special Project Administrator 2 (SPA 2) within the Planning and Development Division. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Planning and Development. The selected candidate will provide project management, administrative, and operational support for a diverse portfolio of affordable housing, redevelopment, and community development initiatives. The Planning and Development Division is responsible for advancing affordable housing development, public housing redevelopment, Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) conversions, Choice Neighborhoods initiatives, real estate development, asset management, strategic planning, and other housing and community development programs. This position will support division leadership by coordinating projects, monitoring progress, assisting with stakeholder engagement, preparing reports and presentations, and supporting business planning and operational initiatives. The position entails coordinating complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and cross-functional teams.

Preferences:

Experience in affordable housing, community development, public administration, planning, redevelopment, real estate development, or related fields is highly desirable.

Pursuant to the authority in Chapter 8B of the Code of Miami-Dade County, when there is a declared state of emergency issued for any portion of Miami-Dade County, all employees of Housing and Community Development will be required to adhere to directives from the Mayor or the Mayors designee to report to work and perform all duties assigned during a declared state of emergency.
