The Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) seeks a highly skilled, strategic professional to serve as Special Projects Administrator 2 (SPA2). This role will support executive leadership in advancing key operational priorities across Facilities and Operations, including Airside, Terminal, and Integrated Airport Operations Center functions. This position is essential for leading multi-agency coordination for high-profile events and complex operational initiatives. This role will collaborate with airlines, TSA, CBP, law enforcement, Fire Rescue, Facilities, and internal divisions to enhance communication, ensure seamless coordination, and align operational efforts with the airport's strategic goals. The Special Projects Administrator 2 will also serve as the primary liaison between MDAD and key aviation stakeholders. In this capacity, this position coordinate and support the Miami Airport Affairs Committee (MAAC), including developing agendas, reviewing, and refining proposals, facilitating workshops, and overseeing the approval process for capital expenditures related to the airports multi-billion-dollar Capital Improvement Program. Furthermore, this role will support engagement with the Airline Management Council (AMC) by coordinating monthly meetings, developing agendas and executive presentations, and collaborating with stakeholders to address operational priorities. Under the direction of the Aviation Deputy Director of Operations and Facilities, the selected candidate will assist in developing and implementing policies and programs that impact airport operations and facilities. They will track the progress of strategic initiatives, prepare executive-level communications, and act as a liaison between the Aviation Department and its stakeholders.

Airport Security

Applicants qualifying for employment with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department will be subject to extensive security screening, including but not limited to fingerprint checks, employment verification, and other such procedures as may be mandated by federal law. The security clearance required by federal law is a continuing condition of employment.
