Basic Function and Distinguishing Characteristics
Under the direction of the Director or assigned Deputy Director, performs a variety of complex technical, professional, and administrative functions in support of the operations, activities, and projects of the Public Health Department.
The Special Projects Coordinator - Public Health is a single position class distinguished by its responsibility to perform professional level administrative tasks, including project research, analysis, and special studies, in support of a wide range of departmental programs.
Education and Experience/ Licenses and Other Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in public health, health science, or public or business administration, and four years of increasingly responsible professional analytical or program management experience related to public health or health care; OR master's degree in public health, health science, or public or business administration, and three years of increasingly responsible analytical, program development, or coordination experience.
A valid California Drivers License.
Supplemental Information
A valid driver's license may be required at the time of appointment and employees may also be required to drive their own vehicle and provide proof of liability insurance as per Vehicle Code VC § 160020. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
This position may require pre-employment drug test, physical examination, and fingerprinting for a background investigation.
