Class Description
This position provides support to the assigned department or program, with a focus on facilitating communication in American Sign Language and ensuring inclusive support for Deaf faculty, students, and community members.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma/GED and three years of related office experience required OR actively pursuing an Associate's Degree in American Sign Language or related field or graduated/transfer within the past semester.
- Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language is required.
- Two years experience working in sign language interpretation, preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills. - Excellent communications skills in spoken/written and sign language.
Class Specific Essential Duties
- Provide academic program information and assistance to students, faculty, administrators, and the college community.
- Maintain strong relationships and coordination between the department/program and internal or external organizations.
- Screen and direct phone calls and respond to inquiries.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail.
Position Specific Essential Duties
- Facilitate communication between Deaf instructors, students, and college personnel through ASL.
- Proctor the American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI).
- Liaise with community internship sites to ensure accessibility and ADA compliance.
- Manage database and listserv email distribution
- Assist in planning and implementing departmental events, meetings, and special projects.
- Support program in development of marketing content.

The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
