OverviewThis role aligns to industry-level titles such as - Proposal or Bid Writer.As part of the proposals team, the Proposal Writer will work closely with Sales, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and other key staff to develop and deliver high-quality, compelling proposals in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The primary responsibility will be focused on text creation, revision, and maintenance, while contributing throughout the entire proposal process, from pre-work to proposal creation, delivery, and limited post-submission support.ResponsibilitiesPre-Work ResponsibilitiesWork with assigned Proposal Analyst and SMEs to identify and collect relevant text from previous responsesProposal Writing ResponsibilitiesRead the RFP and related documents in detail, including materials provided by the Sales lead on win themes, strategies, and differentiatorsAttend proposal kick-off meeting and status meetingsPopulate and/or customize proposal text owned by the proposals team as needed for each proposalReview text from SMEs for adherence to style guide; provide feedback and suggested editsKeep track of requirement gaps and outstanding text deliverablesIncorporate edits from SMEs and Sales lead, proofread, and revise text during each text review cycleComplete final editing/formatting of textDeliver error-free files for proposal productionSupport proposal production tasks, as neededSupport BAFO requests, as applicableOther ResponsibilitiesWrite and improve assigned proposal boilerplate text by incorporating and documenting updates from SMEs through both bid process and boilerplate review meetingsMaintain and update graphics as needed for boilerplate and proposalsQualificationsBA or BS, preferably in English, Journalism, or similar degreeExperience in proposal writing or other relevant writing areasExperience in education or assessment industry preferredExpert proficiency with Microsoft 0365Skills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesHighly organized and detail orientedAble to work independently while remaining committed and responsive to the teamExcellent writing and editing skillsExceptional project management, planning, and time management skillsAssertive yet diplomatic communication styleEEO StatementPearson is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a member of E-Verify.
