    Description

    We are seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for preparing and processing client invoices, resolving billing issues, and supporting attorneys and legal staff throughout the billing process.

    What You'll Do

    • Prepare and process high-volume monthly client billings accurately and on time.
    • Ensure compliance with client billing guidelines and firm policies.
    • Handle complex billing arrangements, including alternative fee agreements (AFAs), split billing, consolidated billing, and insurance billing.
    • Partner with attorneys and staff to resolve billing questions and discrepancies.
    • Monitor unbilled work, client credits, and trust balances.
    • Generate billing reports and respond to attorney and client requests.
    • Assist with process improvements and participate in departmental projects.
    • Provide excellent service to internal and external clients.
    • Support onboarding and training of new team members as needed.

    What We're Looking For

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 3+ years of billing experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
    • Experience with billing systems such as Aderant, Elite, or SAP (Aderant preferred).
    • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
