Responsibilities
DESCRIPTION:The Specialist, Foundation Scholarship assists in the promotion, application, and stewardship of Foundation scholarships to increase opportunity awareness, ensure timely awarding to students, and increase donor-recipient connections.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Reviews, verifies, and completes scholarship award forms for student information, account, and signature for submission to Financial Aid, including coordinating with specific student scholarship groups to receive tuition and book cost information required for award submission.2. Creates scholarship award certificates and award letters to be presented at graduation ceremonies for high school students and other recipient recognition events.3. Monitors scholarship award spreadsheet to track scholarship awards for processing invoices and annual patterns/trends. 4. Assists in hosting scholarship workshops/tutorials to guide students through the application process, including the preparation of promotional and social media materials to increase scholarship awareness, and develop content for the Foundation RaiderConnect page and manager membership roster.5. Receives, researches, and responds to student inquiries received by the Foundation by working with Student Affairs to help resolve issues.6. Summarize student stories, obtains student information release forms, photos, and messages of gratitude for use in donor relations and scholarship giving pages.7. Assists in updating Foundation giving pages and provides backup to maintain the Foundation website and social media. 8. Assists in preparation, planning, and implementation of Foundation group projects and events.9. Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Associate degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.2. Two years of professional or volunteer experience in an office or educational environment.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Experience in data entry and written communications. 2. Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word software.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:1. Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.2. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including faculty, staff, students, donors, vendors, board members, and community members.3. Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to become proficient in videoconferencing applications, including Teams/Zoom. 4. Ability to understand and become proficient in all processes relating to the recording and preparation of Foundation scholarships.5. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills including telephone and public relations skills. 6. Excellent composition, editing, and proofreading skills.7. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.8. Ability to treat confidential information and situations with sensitivity and discretion.9. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.10. Committed to working in a multicultural environment.11. Ability to demonstrate a professional, courteous demeanor.WORK ENVIRONMENT and SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:1. Works in an office environment.2. Works flexible hours, which may include evenings and weekends for special events, as needed.3. Conditions of Employment
Finalists and individuals recommended for employment at Seminole State College must reside in the State of Florida at the time of hire and may be subject to background investigations and fingerprinting in compliance with Florida Statute 1001.64; and Seminole State College Policy 1.020; 2.020.
