Under the direction of the Auxiliary Services Manager, this position works in SLCC's Redwood food & beverage outlets and other auxiliary service areas as assigned. This position creates a positive experience for our customers by providing prompt service, quality food and beverage products, and maintaining a clean, sanitized, and organized environment. Acts in accordance with SLCC's policies and procedures. Adheres to all Salt Lake County Health Department Food Code regulations. Assist with other duties as assigned.
## Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Daily operations of assigned Redwood food & beverage outlet(s). Acts with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the mission, vision, and values of SLCC. Delivers excellent customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude. Discovers and responds to customer needs.· Maintain a positive, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere. Prepare quality food and beverage products consistently for our customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Prepare, cook, and bake foods as assigned. Follows all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Ensures that all food is stored and served at the correct temperature. Completes daily temperature logs. Maintains a clean, sanitized, and organized workspace and storage room. Daily stocking, labeling and rotating of supplies. Maintain inventory levels according to daily business and storage availability. Daily cleaning of assigned food service outlet(s), equipment, dishes, and storage areas. Complete opening and or closing tasks to ensure efficient operations. Completes weekly deep cleaning of assigned areas. Manage orders received on a mobile ordering app on a tablet device. Responsible for minimizing waste by ensuring proper rotation, labeling of products and preparing food and beverages correctly. Take customer orders, input them into the POS register, and process payments. Works to meet or exceed sales goals by suggestive selling . Maintain a positive, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere. Form authentic relationships with customers. Make relevant food and beverage recommendations ensuring an engaging experience with the customers that connects them with the right products to meet their needs.
Able to lift 30 lbs. repetitively, walk and stand for extended periods of time, push a cart, pull, lift, grab, reach, kneel, squat, bend, stoop, climb and twist. Ability to work in a fast paced food service environment.
Ability to safely perform all the duties listed in the job description with or without reasonable accomodation. Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality with or without reasonable accommodation. Able to perform many different tasks during each shift. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed. Ability to maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume to keep the food service outlet operating to standard. Ability to anticipate customer and food service outlet needs by constantly evaluating the environment and customers for cues. Ability to think independently and take initiative to complete daily tasks. Outgoing personality, positive, friendly and enjoy interacting with people. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to build relationships. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to provide excellent customer service. POS and cash handling experience. Intermediate to advanced technological proficiency in computers and tablets. Ability to work both independently and with a team. Possess strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Learn quickly and work well under pressure. Work collaboratively with others in the Auxiliaries team, members
of the college community, and our campus vendors. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and ethnic backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
