Job Description

Territory

Great Lakes Super Region. Posted base is Hammond, IN. Other in-region bases may be considered if the candidate already lives in the footprint. Relocation into the territory is required. Coverage includes support to offices in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, the Virginias New York/ New Jersey and the Northeast. Travel is approximately 50 percent and includes plants, job walks, turnarounds, customer presentations, and surge support.

Essential Functions

Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following Company and customer safety standards and applicable regulations, and by alerting others to potential hazards. Performs assigned duties in accordance with TEAM's Core Values.

  • Lead heat treat commercial activity in the territory, including job walks, scope definition, estimates, proposals, and bid strategy on turnarounds, capital projects, and major accounts.
  • Provide technical advice on required equipment and manpower loading as well as estimated setup/running/teardown durations.
  • Backstops smaller districts that do not have a dedicated heat-treat operations managers, or other district operations lacking in heat treating expertise.
  • Identify and pursue major accounts and capital / turnaround opportunities; document wins, losses, and competitive activity.
  • Promote consistent use of Job Sheets, procedures, and service-line standards.
  • Deliver customer presentations and lunch-and-learns; support Senior Account Managers and DSRs on identifying and pursuing heat treat scopes.
  • Assist with technician development on TEAM-owned methods, including induction.
  • Coordinate with TSG / engineering on procedures, calculations, and complex setups.
  • Support equipment utilization, vendor needs, and conversion of contract labor to TEAM employees where appropriate.
  • Contribute to national service-line messaging so heat treating is presented consistently across regions.

Qualifications- Required

  • 6 - 10+ years of industrial heat treating in the field, executing, supervising, and commercially supporting PWHT, preheat, combustion PWHT / RDO, and/or induction services for industrial sectors including Refining, Petrochemical, Power Generation, Metals Processing, Pulp & Paper, Aerospace, Vessel/Piping Fabricators, EPC's, and Mechanical Contractors.
  • Working knowledge of at least two of the three method families (combustion, electrical resistance, induction) and familiarity with the third.
  • Experience quoting or supporting bids on heat-treat scopes, including required labor, equipment, consumables, and mobilization while maintaining company margin goals.
  • Customer-facing plant experience with planning, engineering, inspection, maintenance, turnaround/outage, and purchasing groups.
  • Ability to read isometrics, P&IDs, and heat treat requirements on WPS packages and other client provided documentation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical school, trade credential, or related associate degree preferred.
  • Authorization to work in the United States and ability to obtain customer plant access (TWIC and site-specific requirements as applicable).
  • Ability to travel approximately 50 percent and work turnaround schedules.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Adherence to TEAM safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications- Preferred

  • Heat-treat certifications (Level II / III combustion, electrical resistance, or induction) or equivalent documented competency.
  • Prior heat-treat supervision or lead technician responsibility on multi-console or multi-method jobs.
  • Experience with TEAM or equivalent wireless heat treating equipment (Consoles, Mobile Rigs, Gas Trains, Induction Machines).
  • Prior commercial or area-management experience in industrial heat treating.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to: Director- Heat Treat Service Line USA.
  • Partners with: Regional and District leadership, operations, account managers / DSRs, Technical Support Group (TSG), equipment / engineering, and Marketing.
  • Peers: Heat Treating Service Line Specialists in the Gulf and West regions.
