What is the Specialist, Investment and Trade Client Services responsible for?

As Specialist, Investment and Trade Client Services, you are responsible for processing all corporate actions related to fixed income instruments. These include, but are not limited to consent solicitations, options to call issues, options to put issues, redemption offers, conversions, exchanges, tender offers and final payments. To thrive in the Investment and Trade Client Services team, you can successfully juggle multiple priorities and are invigorated to work in a deadline driven environment. No two days are the same as you manage relationships with our Custodian Banks and internal stakeholders that include the front office, Client Services & Marketing and Legal & Compliance.

What are the key responsibilities of a Specialist, Investment and Trade Client Services?

  • Complete all related paperwork associated with a corporation action (e.g., holdings certification).
  • Maintain Corporate Action database in line with information received from custodians and information providers.
  • Handle and process time critical information. Process all mandatory and voluntary corporate actions.
  • Monitor Portfolio Manager decisions, confirm preclearance and respond to the custodian in the required timeframes.
  • Ensure acknowledgement of receipt of instruction for all custodians.
  • Process all actions in Invest One and Advanced Trading Platform, as appropriate.
  • Resolve complex problems relating to changing positions / transactions during corporate action periods and deal with brokers to ensure positions are protected.
  • Monitor voluntary corporate actions to ensure full entitlement is received.
  • Closely monitor all detail and understand the risks associated with time sensitive information.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal procedures and controls.
  • Develop and implement new initiatives and assist with process re-engineering projects for all corporate action related initiatives including internal technology improvements as well as implementing external custodian-based solutions.

What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone be successful?

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and overall computer proficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Previous experience in a fixed income environment is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience.

Expected base salary for the role will generally be between $95,700.00-$112,600.00 at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include other forms of compensation such as, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
