Description

Overview:

This dynamic position is within the Global Product Stewardship organization.  The product steward will be responsible for authoring safety data sheets and labels for all Celanese businesses.  The product steward will also oversee Celanese’s automated SDS distribution and the dangerous goods management processes.  The product steward will be under the supervision of the Global Product Stewardship Systems and Data Manager. This position is ideally based in the DFW area but could be based in Wilmington, DE or Florence, KY.

Responsibilities:
  • Manages hazard communication and related process (dangerous goods and SDS publishing and distribution) for all Celanese businesses  
  • Collaborates with stakeholders within and outside (R&D, Sales, Supply Chain, Quality, Global Trade and Plant EH&S) of product stewardship
  • Provides hazard communication guidance to internal and external customers
  • Monitors existing and emerging regulations related to hazard communication and communicates impacts to stakeholders and manager
  • Develops, maintains, and where appropriate, optimizes hazard communication processes
  • Proactively and continually improves global hazard communication knowledge
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years’ experience in product stewardship/chemical regulatory compliance within the chemical industry or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of GHS/CLP classification and of dangerous goods (hazmat) 
  • Experience using the SAP EHS module or equivalent 
  • Reading, writing and speaking fluency in English 
  • Bachelor's or equivalent in sciences or other related technical discipline is strongly preferred 
  • Experience with Salesforce is strongly preferred
  • Strong project management, recordkeeping, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a global fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
