Specialist, Quality EngineerJob Location: Canoga Park, CAJob Schedule: 9/80 – employees work 9 out of every 14 days (80 hours), with every other Friday offJob DescriptionL3Harris is seeking a Specialist, Quality Engineer to provide program quality engineering support for contracted programs spanning the lifecycle of the program including design, development, production, test, and supplier support.Essential FunctionsUtilize engineering background to ensure customer requirement flow‑down and hardware compliance with specifications; handle and communicate deviations/non‑conformances at different levels within the organization and at customer level as applicable; prepare comprehensive analyses, procedures, reports, and presentations for both internal and external customers.Actively participate in improvement teams to reduce risk through the application of Six Sigma tools; apply zero‑defect quality principles, concepts, and methods including Lean Manufacturing to continuously improve processes, reduce cost, and ensure the quality of our products and services.Drive corrective and preventative action activity both in‑house and at the supplier; provide corrective action board support to manage timely and effective problem closure and recurrence control.Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, customer quality requirements, and company quality requirements to ensure compliance; participate in design reviews to identify and correct inspectability and producibility issues early in the product life cycle; provide a clear and concise flow‑down of product definition and quality requirements to suppliers.Actively participate in the Material Review Board, including segregation and control of nonconforming hardware, disposition of nonconforming hardware, preparing for and conducting board meetings, and implementing disposition decisions.QualificationsBachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of relevant quality experience;Graduate Degree and minimum 2 years of related quality experience;In lieu of a degree, minimum 8 years of related quality experience.Preferred Additional SkillsAdvanced degree in a related fieldCertified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB)APQP and/or Zero Defect Planning experienceMDA experienceStrong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to analyze, evaluate and develop solutions to a variety of situationsConsistent commitment to meeting commitmentsBenefits & CompensationIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $84,000 - $156,000.
