Job Title: Specialist, Quality EngineerJob Code: 39737Job Location: Providence, RIJob Schedule: 9/80Job Description We are looking for a Quality Engineer that will be responsible for providing hands‑on manufacturing quality support across production, receiving inspection, testing, supplier quality activities, and program execution. This role ensures product compliance, configuration control, effective corrective actions, and adherence to customer, regulatory, and company quality requirements while supporting production objectives and customer deliverables. They will review test data packages to ensure compliance with procedures, specifications, and acceptance criteria. Verify traceability between hardware configuration, test results, and documentation. Support troubleshooting and resolution of test anomalies and discrepancies. Participate in product acceptance and release activities.Essential Functions Serve as the primary Quality Engineering representative supporting assigned programs and customer requirements throughout production and test activities.Support customer inspections, source inspections, witness points, and quality‑related program deliverables.Assist with customer audits, data package preparation, and quality documentation activities.Interface with program teams, customers, and internal stakeholders to resolve quality‑related issues.Serve as a Quality Lead supporting manufacturing operations through in‑process and final inspection activities.Provide real‑time quality support to production personnel to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, procedures, and workmanship standards.Review inspection results and ensure quality concerns are appropriately identified, documented, escalated, and resolved.Drive containment activities when product or process issues are identified.Qualifications Requires practical knowledge of manufacturing quality principles, inspection methods, and quality systems.Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of two (2) years of related experience; or Graduate Degree with zero (0) to two (2) years of related experience; or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of six (6) years of directly related experience.Experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or highly regulated environment preferred.Familiarity with auditing techniques and quality management systems including ISO9001, AS9100, and related regulatory requirements.Experience using ERP systems such as SAP for quality planning, inspection activities, and material control processes.Working knowledge and application of quality tools including root cause analysis, 5Why, fishbone diagrams, Pareto analysis, control plans, PFMEA, and statistical problem‑solving techniques.Preferred Additional Skills Strong understanding of manufacturing quality systems, inspection methodologies, and production support processes.Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) activities and understanding of AS9102 requirements and associated documentation packages.Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and tools including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma principles, Kaizen, defect reduction initiatives, and process improvement techniques.Experience with nonconformance management, root cause investigations, corrective action development, and effectiveness verification.Strong understanding of configuration management, traceability requirements, and controlled documentation practices.Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, manufacturing documentation, and customer requirements.Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.Ability to work effectively across cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.Equal Opportunity Employer Statement L3Harris Technologies is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
