Primary Purpose:
Support the effective implementation of the district's social and emotional learning vision. Help develop, adapt, and execute SEL initiatives within the campus and support district and school staff in promoting students' social and emotional development through direct support, curriculum and assessment. Work in cooperation with school staff, parents, and community partners to coordinate internal and external resources to meet the needs of students and contribute to a positive school climate.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, or related field
Master's degree in education, counseling, social work, or related field, preferred
Valid Texas teaching certificate or equivalent certification in educational psychology or counseling, preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of current research and best practices in social emotional learning, counseling, and/or restorative practices
Experience designing and delivering professional development
Knowledgeable of comprehensive student discipline practices and de-escalation strategies
Ability to plan, organize, and work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and other staff
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both in written form and orally
Experience:
Three years teaching experience, professional school counselor, or social worker experience required

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent extended days. Administrative office environment, high pressure, fast pace, multiple deadlines and people intensive.
