Specialty Flex Security Officer

Location: Chicago, IL and Surrounding

Schedule: Open Availability Required (including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed)

Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour

Core Responsibilities

• Site Adaptability: Deploying to different environments-such as corporate offices, retail spaces, healthcare facilities, or industrial plants-and quickly mastering each site's specific security protocols.
• Access Control: Verifying employee and visitor identifications, managing gate entries, issuing badges, and preventing unauthorized access.
• Patrol and Surveillance: Conducting foot or vehicle patrols of interior and exterior premises to deter criminal activity and check for safety hazards.
• Emergency Response: Serving as a first responder during incidents like fires, medical emergencies, natural disasters, or active security threats.
• Incident Reporting: Writing detailed, accurate daily logs and incident reports for clients and security management.

Specialized Skills & Requirements

• Advanced Training: Often requires specialized certifications, such as CPR/First Aid, crisis de-escalation, firearms handling (if armed), or specific industry certifications (e.g., healthcare or maritime security).
• High Availability: Demands a flexible schedule, including the willingness to work on-call, nights, weekends, and holidays with minimal advance notice.
• Strong Communication: Interfacing professionally with diverse clients, employees, and local law enforcement.
• Problem Solving: Navigating unfamiliar environments and making critical decisions under pressure without direct supervision.

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Reliable vehicle (frequent travel between sites required)
• Previous security experience, preferably in flex, mobile patrol, or multi-site roles
• Active IL PERC guard card
• Illinois 20-hour Basic Security Training certificate

This is a Full and Part-Time position 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, 3rd Shift, Weekends.
