Location: Sterling, VA Duration: 46 Weeks Schedule: Monday–Friday Hours: 7:00 AM – 2:45 PM
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education (SPED) Teacher – Autism to support students within a public school district setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs).
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialized instruction and educational support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Develop and implement individualized instruction plans based on students’ IEPs.
Support students in academic, communication, behavioral, social, and daily living skills.
Implement effective behavioral and classroom management strategies.
Monitor, assess, and document student progress while maintaining accurate educational records.
Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, parents/guardians, and school staff.
Adapt and modify curriculum and classroom activities to meet individual student needs.
Requirements
Active Virginia Special Education Teaching License.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience working with students with Autism/ASD and/or special education needs preferred.
Experience with IEP implementation, behavioral support, and individualized instruction preferred.
