Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education (SPED) Teacher – Autism to support students within a public school district setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction and educational support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
• Develop and implement individualized instruction plans based on students’ IEPs.
• Support students in academic, communication, behavioral, social, and daily living skills.
• Implement effective behavioral and classroom management strategies.
• Monitor, assess, and document student progress while maintaining accurate educational records.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, parents/guardians, and school staff.
• Adapt and modify curriculum and classroom activities to meet individual student needs.

Requirements

• Active Virginia Special Education Teaching License.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience working with students with Autism/ASD and/or special education needs preferred.
• Experience with IEP implementation, behavioral support, and individualized instruction preferred.
