    Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Special Product Engineering & Design (SPED) Engineer I-III based at our Berea, Kentucky manufacturing plant.

    What you will do:

    • Design and update components and systems that help improve product performance, resolve manufacturing or field issues, and support reliable lift truck operation.

    • Use 3-D CAD tools to model parts, develop design concepts, and support engineering changes from initial review through release.

    • Partner with product development, engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to select materials, review design options, and support new product launches or current product improvements.

    • Prepare and release engineering change documentation while helping the plant address product quality, compliance, and certification needs.

    Who you are:

    • A curious problem-solver who enjoys learning how products are designed, built, tested, and improved in a manufacturing environment.

    • A hands-on collaborator who can work with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and production teams to understand challenges and contribute practical solutions.

    • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage design updates, documentation, and engineering change requests with accuracy and follow-through.

    • Comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, and building technical knowledge through training, mentorship, and real-world experience.

    • Motivated to support safe, reliable products while contributing to a team that values continuous improvement and different perspectives.

    What you will need:

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Mechanical or Electrical concentration preferred.

    • Experience: 0-5 years of experience.

    Skills, Experience & Abilities

    • Understanding mechanical or electrical systems and how components function within a finished product.

    • Basic knowledge of 3-D CAD modeling and engineering principles used in product design and development.

    • Experience using CAD software to create, update, and review drawings, models, or design concepts; experience with Creo, NX, or similar tools is helpful.

    • Familiarity with manufacturing environments, including how engineering changes may impact production, quality, and product performance.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including the ability to organize data, summarize findings, and prepare clear reports.
