SPED Teacher Assistant

Location: Hamilton, VA 20158
Contract: 16 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Shift: 7:30 AM–2:50 PM
Pay Rate: $20–$25/hr
Classroom: K–2 Autism (AUT)

Requirements

• Experience working with children or students with special needs preferred

• Experience supporting students with autism preferred

• Ability to provide one-on-one and small-group support

• Strong communication and patience

• Ability to support academic, behavioral, and developmental needs

• Ability to follow IEP goals and classroom plans

• Dependable and able to work effectively as part of a school team

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with daily instruction and classroom activities.

• Provide one-on-one and small-group student support.

• Help students follow classroom routines, schedules, and transitions.

• Support implementation of IEP goals and accommodations.

• Provide behavioral, social, and emotional support.

• Assist with communication and social interaction skills.

• Help develop appropriate classroom behaviors.

• Support students with daily academic and developmental activities.

• Maintain a safe, positive, and supportive classroom environment.
