Position Goal To actively participate in the development and implementation of an effective Speech and Language therapy service program that provides for collaboration with staff and families to address communication disorders that interfere with an individual students ability to access the educational program.

Licensure

• Masters Degree including completed clinical practicum from an accredited college or university in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
• All New Mexico licenses applicable to assignment
• Ability to perform essential job functions and job task requirements noted on job description.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility and its associated duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

• Provide direct services in a variety of settings to identified students on a regularly scheduled basis as required by each IEP.
• Administers diagnostic screenings, observations, and assessments and interpret data to determine qualification for services.
• Participate in developing and implementing IEPs through effective collaboration with the student, family, and staff.
• Routinely monitor student progress, revise supports, and assist in the implementation of accommodations.
• Make clinical decisions for goal developing, frequency, and duration of services and recommend dismissal from services as appropriate.
• Provide recommendations and resources for other staff on topics related to communication disorders.
• Must be able to provide own transportation between sites as needed for caseload.
