    Job Description

    The Erin School District is seeking a candidate to fill a part time speech and language pathologist position vacancy within the district as a long term substitute for approximately 10-12 weeks, potentially longer. This position offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic, student centered special education team. The district values managing and maintaining manageable caseloads that allow for personalized comprehensive services. Opportunities exist within this vacancy to work with students at the elementary and middle school levels.

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate school speech and language pathologist to join our team as a long term substitute. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the communication and language development of students within the school community. As a member of our special education team the school speech and language pathologist will assess, determine and/or develop IEP's and implement services to students with communication needs. This individual will also collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to ensure the success of every student.     Qualifications/Requirements:

    • Possesses or qualifies for a valid certification as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of Wisconsin (License #820)
    • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations and best practices related to speech-language services in schools.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate positively with students, staff, and the public.
    • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all phases of the position.

    Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

    The following items represent responsibilities the speech language pathologist must uphold within the Erin School District

    • Identify, evaluate, and provide therapy to students with a speech and language disability through referrals or screenings.
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language and communication disorders among students.
    • Provide speech and language therapy by developing and implementing Individual Education Plans to students with communication disorders in a direct or consultative service model.
    • Develop, implement and manage goals for the Individualized Education Program (IEP) for students with disabilities.
    • Serve as case manager for handling all necessary paperwork for evaluation and placement of students receiving speech therapy.
    • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress.
