Michigan Licensure in Speech and Language Pathology required, limited or full
CCC or CFY applicants welcome
Experience working with students with ASD and Applied Behavior Analysis preferred
Experience in providing services utilizing the components of a Response to Intervention or MTSS model
Experience facilitating the IEP process
Trained in, or willing to be trained in, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with students, parents and staff
Experience using computers and educational technology
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintains compliance with Individualized Educational Plans for students on caseload and Medicaid. All other mandates required by the State, Federal and district must be maintained in a timely manner.
Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement.
Provides a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of speech and hearing disabled children.
Assists and guides teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments.
Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, hearing and language impairments.
Assists in proper referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists in the community as appropriate.
Provides appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet individual student needs and correct existing speech and language disabilities.
Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy by suggestions to the student's daily activities.
Provides information, support and counseling to parents and families when appropriate.
Keep thorough ongoing records for the individual student receiving therapy or other school-provided speech services.
Maintains lists of referred, screened and eligible students as well as a directory of outside agencies, consultants, specialists and related services.
Fulfilling professional responsibilities that are required by the school district and/or State of Michigan.
All other responsibilities deemed appropriate and necessary by the Director of Student Support Services.
