Reports to: Executive Director of School and Family Support Services or designee

Salary Range: $48,703- $100,722 per year annually (full-time equivalent), prorated based on the position's FTE

Employment Terms: Part-Time, 10-Month

Position Overview: Diagnoses communicative disorders, plans, directs and participates in individual or group therapy sessions which focus on the remediation of specific articulation problems

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, identify, and provide evidence-based speech-language services for students with communication disorders that impact educational performance, participating as a member of the Planning and Placement Team (PPT) and developing individualized education programs (IEPs).
  • Deliver direct and consultative speech-language therapy, monitor student progress, and implement instructional strategies and accommodations that support communication development and academic success.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers to provide guidance, referrals, assistive technology recommendations, and communication strategies that support student achievement.
  • Conduct screenings, assessments, and progress monitoring; prepare evaluation reports, maintain accurate records, and complete all required documentation, including Medicaid billing, in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.
  • Promote inclusive learning environments by providing consultation, professional guidance, and resources related to speech, language, hearing, voice, and fluency development to support students across educational settings.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) educator certificate with an endorsement in one or more of the following endorsement areas: 061

  • Must hold a valid CT Dept. of Public Health license

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
