Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant Salary Block: Administrative Professional
Pay Grade 2 (Plus Stipend)
Reports To: Special Education Director Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Terms of Employment: 197
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Valid Texas licensure as an Assistant Speech-Language Pathologist
Must provide own mode of transportation
Primary Purpose:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences to supplement the core academic
subject area assigned to meet state standards for individual children deemed most in need, or a school wide
approach to improve the overall instructional program.
Performance Responsibilities:
Provide appropriate individual and group therapy to students consistent with speech and language
goals identified in the Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.)
Ability to instruct and manage student behavior.
Coordinates services and demonstrates flexibility in achieving maximum efficiency in scheduling and
service delivery.
Under the supervision of the Speech Language Pathologist provides speech therapy addressing the
student's individual education objectives in the areas of articulation, language, fluency, and voice.
Selects, produces and utilizes appropriate materials and technology to meet student's needs.
Models and provides feedback on student progress during instruction.
Monitors student's communication skills in various settings, providing carry-over activities.
Complies with federal and state laws, district policies and procedures regarding all areas of speech /
language services, as it applies to the speech therapist assistant.
Complies with Medicaid procedures, in a timely manner.
Maintains student working files while insuring the integrity and confidentiality of student data.
Consults with the supervising licensed Speech Pathologist on all speech I.E.P.'s and progress
reports, prior to the Admission, Review, and Dismissal Committee (ARD) meeting.
Participates in staff development opportunities that ensures professional growth as it relates to
speech and language issues.
Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other required
documents.
Is punctual at all times in reporting to duty, meetings, and comply with all district and campus
directives, policies, and procedures.
Supports the goals and objectives of the school district and follows all district policies closely.
Upholds and adheres to the safety rules and policies of the CISD safety and energy management
programs.
Ability to attend work on a regular and routine basis to avoid disruption to district operations.

Performs any other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by the Director of Special Education.
All duties assigned must meet federal and state standards, district policies related to activities in
compliance under Federal Program requirements.
Support the goals and objectives of the school district and follows all district polices.
Ability to work on a regular and routine basis to avoid disruptions to district polices.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Mental Demands:
Reading, ability to communicate effectively (orally and written); ability to instruct; maintain
emotional control under stress.
Physical Demands / Environmental Factors:
District-wide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
